This is located in the heart of the city, in one of the ‘Gam’ as it is called here. The site is tiny, with 2 common walls on the longer sides-leaving only 2 shorter sides with the possibility of getting in light and ventilation.
The front of the house faces west- which was designed as a brick jali, which would act as an element for the façade as well cuts the harsh evening light, getting a nice, warm perforated light inside. An internal skylight was also proposed to keep the internal spaces well lit and ventilated. The ample light in the home made the spaces feel larger than they actually were, giving the cosy home a much needed uplift.
