Nestled on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, this farmhouse sits within a vast agricultural landscape—an ideal retreat from the city’s bustle.
The design unfolds as two distinct blocks: one housing the bedrooms and the other dedicated to leisure and social activities, complemented by a pool, jacuzzi, and outdoor deck.
The bedroom block, perched on a gentle mound, is defined by a simple exposed RCC box frame. Planters line its longer façades, shielding the interiors from the harsh southern sun while ensuring privacy. From the deck, uninterrupted views open toward the southern expanse, enhanced by the level difference between the two blocks.
The living block, accommodating the main lounge and bar, nestles within a subtle dugout, creating an intimate, grounded atmosphere. Large openings connect it seamlessly to the surrounding lawn, the farm to the south, and the pool on the west.
The architectural expression is deliberately minimal—honest in materiality and form—allowing the occupants to experience the simplicity of rural life and the beauty of nature that envelops the house.
