A five-bedroom residence was envisioned for a three-generation family living together in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The city’s inherent greenery became a key design asset, inspiring expansive openings and framed views from within the home, as well as generous landscaped pockets integrated throughout the site.
The plot is accessed from the south, where a large Neem tree creates a natural canopy, casting an ever-changing play of shade at the entrance. The entry vestibule overlooks a front garden, while the linear connecting passage also opens into green pockets, constantly reinforcing the presence of landscape within the built environment. Positioned on the east, the living room opens into a sprawling lawn, allowing the home to capture abundant morning light. The drawing room, dining area, and kitchen occupy the northern edge, unfolding onto a plunge pool and deck through full-height openings that harness soft, indirect north light. The western wing accommodates two bedrooms for the parents of each generation, each with access to a private deck and courtyard.

The first floor hosts three additional bedrooms and an entertainment room, while the topmost level features a game room that leads to a large, usable terrace—an ideal setting for intimate family gatherings under the open sky.

The material palette is composed of horizontal and vertical exposed concrete walls cast in pinewood shuttering, complemented by wooden-louvered windows and aluminium-framed openings. A metal-fabricated, wood-cladded staircase anchors the interior circulation. Against the vibrant greens of the surroundings, the structure forms a striking yet softened contrast, with integrated planters weaving nature through every edge of the built form.
